The
ensemble “Expromt Quintet”, created by five graduates of the Saint
Petersburg Conservatoire, materialized in 1999. From that time until
now the ensemble has won two prominent music competitions, given
over 400 concerts at the best halls in Russia and abroad, recorded
3 CDs, and prepared 6 musical programs, including a collaborative
effort with singer Pyotr Migunov.
The ensemble’s style is distinctive on account of the unique combination
of instruments and also thanks to the instrumentalists’ work ethic.
All arrangements are written by members of the ensemble. The ensemble’s
repertoire is very diverse, and features well-known songs of the
past, some musical “jokes”, world ethnic music, and modern, jazzstyle
songs.
“Expromt Quintet” has toured Germany, France, Scotland, Italy and
Denmark.
